In our previous post, we briefly explained that we were voted Hawaii’s Best Landscaping Company in 2018 by the Honolulu Star Advertiser, the state’s flagship newspaper.
We explained how we do this work for our love of people and place, not for awards or fanfare.
That may all sound cliché, but it is the truth. Let us dive in head first, and really explore what it means to be one of Hawaii’s best.
Landscaping and Gardening in Hawaii
The horticultural arts, as we’ll call them, have a storied history and sacred place in our tropical island home.
Since the advanced agricultural systems brought here first by the native Hawaiians, the bond between residents and our natural environment has long been a strong one.
Through the generations we saw strong influences from many diverse immigrant groups, the rise and fall of industrial sugar and pineapple. And through it all to this day we are able to enjoy what most of the other 50 United States don’t; a 12 month per year growing season.
Because of this culture and environment, Hawaii naturally has a very robust landscaping industry. Many, many great gardeners and landscape contractors have performed here in our lifetime as well as the generations of our parents, grandparents, and so on. Many of whom are still active, and that we have admired and looked up to over the years to this day. To say one is the best is a daunting, nearly impossible task.
There is a genuine camaraderie among those in our tight knit industry.
For our beloved clients, family and friends, our colleagues in the Hawaii landscaping industry and of course the voters (readers) of the Star Advertiser poll, we are grateful. We strive to continue the level of excellence and expectation set forth by our industry and these awards.

With that being said, it is a great honor for our company to receive this prestigious award for our service.
We are excited by what we’ve been able to achieve, and inspired to grow and continue to bring our service to a greater portion of the Oahu population.
